Things to check before scuba diving

Getting ready for the scuba diving begins way before we’re fully equipped and are ready to go. It actually starts before we even leave home, when checking for the dive destination, booking a dive operator, though grabbing the suitable scuba equipment, and documentations, and finally ends during the final dive briefing just as we’re about to take the plunge.

We’ve summed up the most important things we need to do and check before scuba diving, divided them by simply categories and for your convenience supplied a simple check list form you can download and print, to use when scuba diving:

Dive Destination:

probably the most important and obvious things to check before diving- where exactly am I going to? this simple question soon is followed by tons of other questions to be answered in order to make your next dive trip a memorable experience. such questions can be – whats is the weather going to be like, how do I get there, what would I see and more.

Dive Conditions:

Dive conditions make a huge difference on the total dive experience. There are some basic factors we shouldn’t ignore and should check before scuba diving that can improve your experience, comfort and safety and make you dive memorable. Most dive conditions such as tides, water temperature, and currents predictable and can make a factor on your decision on choosing a dive destination even before getting there.

Dive Operator:

Choosing the right dive center can make a huge difference on your experience whether you plan on learning scuba diving or simply dive for fun. There are some basic things you can check to make sure you end up diving with a dive operator that meet your needs. You don’t have to be an expert or even a diver to know what’s good for you. and always remember the number one rule:

Documentation and Payments.

Just before leaving don’t forget those little things you can’t do without- paperwork. what do I need to bring with me? how will I be able to pay? what happens if something is lost?

What scuba diving equipment will we need is greatly determined by where we’re about to dive. Water temperature and dive condition determine our exposure suits, water entry can determine our fins type, visibility – the need for dive lights, and the topography can alter the need for scuba accessories.

Dive Site:

So we’ve picked up the destination, and got there, now what? remember this- dive operators will sometimes lead you to go to places that are more comfortable for them. Such dive sites can be favorite for their ease of diving or accessibility. If you have any special interests, or requirements, make sure you know where you’re going. Dive Safety:

There are some basic and very important factors to be aware off before scuba diving. These factors should always be checked prior to diving. consult the local dive professional for all the measures taken to ensure your safety.
